PETALING JAYA: The health ministry has recorded a four-digit increase for the third consecutive day with 1,208 new Covid-19 cases and three deaths in the past 24 hours.
Health director-general Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said there were 1,013 recoveries, bringing the total number of those discharged to 34,785.
In a statement, Noor Hisham said the 1,208 cases bring the total number of infections in the country to 47,417.
There are currently 12,323 active cases, with 104 patients receiving intensive care, of which 42 require respiratory assistance.
Meanwhile, the three deaths bring the toll to 309.
